We Now Offer Medical Cannabis
In 2016, Medical Cannabis was approved by the New York State Department of Health for medical use. Comprehensive Pain Management Associates was one of the first practices to prescribe this for medical use.
Its indications include the treatment of pain related to multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, seizure disorders, neuropathies, glaucoma, and chronic pain syndromes.
The New York State Pain Society has worked with the New York State Department of Health to advise on different conditions that might benefit patients. The side effects of medical cannabis might include dizziness and rarely euphoria which are usually well tolerated by most patients.
Different forms of cannabis include sublingual oil, vapor, and capsules. Much of the therapeutic benefits of medical cannabis derive from its action at the receptors which modulate analgesia.
